Common Mistakes

Not Replacing the Filter
This is the most common cause of performance issues.
A clogged filter restricts water flow, which directly impacts cooling efficiency and system operation. When water cannot circulate properly, the chiller is forced to work harder than intended.
Reduced flow can lead to internal ice buildup within the heat exchange and may cause long-term damage to the system.
Replace your filter every 10–14 days, or sooner if you notice reduced water flow.

Not Priming the System
When starting your system after a refill, there is no water inside the chiller or hoses.
The system must be primed to push water through the lines, fill the hoses, and fully saturate the internal heat exchange before operation.
This is done using the priming pump included with your order.
Starting the chiller without priming can result in a dry start, which may damage internal components.
Always prime the system before turning the chiller on.
Over-Tightening Fittings
Over-tightening the standard brass fittings is a common issue.
Each fitting uses an o-ring to create a proper seal. Applying too much force can compress or damage the o-ring, preventing it from sealing correctly and leading to leaks or connection issues.
Fittings should be tightened just enough to create a secure seal. No additional force is needed.

Incorrect Hose Connections
The inlet and outlet connections must be set up correctly for proper water flow.
The outlet of the chiller should connect to the inlet of the tub, and the inlet of the chiller should connect to the outlet of the tub.
In simple terms, water should flow out of the chiller and into the top inlet port of the tub, then return from the tub back into the chiller.
These connections are commonly reversed, which prevents proper circulation and affects system performance.
